You can join two free guided history walks in Holywell and Needingworth this July.
Friday July 7th: meeting at The Old Ferryboat we walk round Holywell and see cottages along the Front, the church, Manor Farm, and Moynes Hall – we hear about eels, artists, pigs and an Archbishop.
Friday July 21st: meeting at The Queen’s Head we walk Needingworth West past pubs, butcher’s shop, drovers’ pound, two roads to Holywell, the Huts, chapel, parkland, “Institute”, and the only thatched cottage – we see the site of a dovecote, pass two old ponds, and hear what WMT means
Both walks are about 1 mile or less, start at 7 pm, and take up to 1½ hours. They start and end at a pub car park.
Numbers are limited so booking is advisable – search Eventbrite for hcnhistory.
(These are repeats as the original dates for both walks are fully booked!)
