To further enhance the playing fields and make it more attractive as a place for all to visit the Parish Council have started to develop the site with the planting of six flowering trees in the area adjacent to the tennis courts. The picture shows Cllr Whyte and Mr Dave Martin planting the first tree in March.
The site will be further improved by the donation of funding for two benches and an American gum tree from Holywell-cum-Needingworth WI in commemoration of their 100-year anniversary – Please see the WI report.
The Parish Council are delighted to further announce that it was resolved to install a space net on Overcote playing field subject to successful planning permission. This will be a welcome addition for older chidren to the existing facilities offered at the playing field.
There have been several requests to the Parish Council to offer an area of shade within the under 12’s play area. In response to these requests the Parish Council have resolved to install a wooden pergola over the picnic tables within the play area.
We hope that both the Space net and the pergola will be installed in the near future.
